Arusha National Park offers one of the most rewarding walking safari experiences in Tanzania. Upon arriving at the park in the morning, you'll be introduced to an armed park ranger who leads your small group into the heart of the bush on foot. This slow-paced, educational walk typically follows trails near the Ngurdoto Crater or the Momella Lakes area, where you may encounter giraffes, zebras, warthogs, buffaloes, and various antelope at close range. You’ll also learn about medicinal plants, animal tracks, and birdlife as you move quietly through forest and savanna. The thrill of being on foot in a landscape filled with wildlife makes this a profound and memorable experience, lasting 2–3 hours before returning to the vehicle for optional game drives or a picnic lunch.
