Lake Duluti Canoeing

A peaceful retreat from the bustle of town, Lake Duluti lies nestled at the base of Mount Meru just 30 minutes from Arusha. After a short drive, you arrive at this volcanic crater lake surrounded by lush forest. The experience begins with a safety briefing and gentle push-off in a two-person canoe, guided by an expert who points out native flora and fauna along the water’s edge. As you glide quietly across the calm, reflective waters, you might spot monitor lizards sunning on rocks, fish eagles soaring above, and kingfishers darting over the surface. The silence of the lake makes for a meditative experience, and the canoeing route typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. After returning to shore, there's time to walk along the forest trail, sip coffee, or enjoy a packed lunch with panoramic views over the water and toward Mount Meru.
